North Dakota State Fair Celebrates 50 Years with Rock Legends and Country Superstars

North Dakota State Fair has drawn the curtain on 2015 and we touched base with Fair Manager, Renae Korslien about their 50th Anniversary, their lineup, the new stage roof and weather. “Our Fair was FANTASTIC!” Renae reported. As most Fair Managers can attest, the weather is always a challenge. The weather report was less than ideal for the day Keith Urban was scheduled to take the stage. However, the new permanent roof saved the day. “…Urban got on stage and played two songs and it started pouring rain, however because of great new stage roof…he didn’t get even a sprinkle on him and the people really didn’t care. He kept playing and within a couple of songs it was all over and mid way through his concert he jumped into the crowd and gave away his guitar.. put on a great concert.” Aerosmith and Urban each drew an impressive numbers, over 16,000. Renae further reported that “many comments from people were that [Urban] was the best concert. Of course that was the night before the Aerosmith concert.”

While Keith Urban and Aerosmith had the largest crowds, “Miranda Lambert … came through for us and the crowd was very strong for her and her opening act, our own North Dakotan Gwen Sebastian.” Renae reported further on their lineup, that “Chase Rice and Kip Moore put on very good concerts…Kellie Pickler really wowed the crowd as she jumped down into the crowd and sang to a couple of different people.”

“Such a great lineup the Romeo Agency once again did for us,” Renae sounded off. We are looking forward to another wonderful year with Renae and North Dakota State Fair.
